Our last newsletter highlighted a fractional ownership ( percentage ownership of two properties…beach and cloud forest )…the first home is in Bajos del Toro, which is ( in distance ) about 30 minutes away from Sarchi ( next town over from Grecia )…the area is in a valley surrounded by mountains. Bajos del Toro is a favorite of Ticos for weekend retreats and picnics, and even weekend homes. The area, technically, is a cloud forest, much the same as the famous Monteverde. The area is famous for bird watching and huge amounts of flora and fauna. A majority of the land in the area is reserve and national forest and cannot be built on. The area is wetter (obviously …it is a cloud forest)and more cloudy than most areas. But it is definitely a gorgeous area, under priced and we feel that values here will escalate quickly.
1. The notion of “fractional ownership “ may be a little different to most of you, but it is far superior to time sharing as it includes actual ownership. There are two properties, one is a home on a river in Bajos del Toro, about 250 meters off of a public road. The home has never been lived in, is wood and concrete, 4 BR, 2 baths, 2500 sf, large upper balcony, fireplace and great kitchen. Only 1700 s. meters of land but only 15 meters away from the river. Needs a little work , but very minor. The second house is a smaller, multi BR, clean, 800 sf, with guest house, rancho and fruit trees.
