As we head into rainy season…and it is the norm to “slow down”
whether we like it or not…it appears that we are getting
busier and busier.
Our projects ( at least some of them ) have been “discovered” by other realtors who are realizing what a value they are. From our standpoint, obviously this is a good thing. Three sales last week and two more pending.
This is partially, we feel, due to the home we are building on Ventanas. Obviously it engenders confidence if the owner/developer builds on his/her own property.
And it really has exceeded our own expectations, so building in Ventanas was not exactly a sacrifice for us… in fact, quite the opposite.
We are continuing to develop our Palo Seco property… Dos Vistas.
We have started the model casita on our own property (in Ventanas…
easier and faster ) so that everyone will be able to see exactly what we are offering. The lots themselves are laid out and we have had our
photographers and graphics people there to gather material enough to
convey exactly what Dos Vistas will be like.
A gorgeous beach home with terra cotta roof and floor tiles, tropical landscaping, an immaculate, light sand beach with surfing waves and breaks,
an estuary in the back which features phenomenal fishing and shrimping
(a record snook was caught there last year)…
Palo Seco, just outside the town of Parrita is midway between Manuel Antonio and Jaco and has been untouched by the tourism of other areas
(even though it is convenient). The beach community itself is well known for
its conservation efforts as well as it released over 8000 sea turtles in 2008.
What can be better? Well, we honestly doubt if the price will ever be touched again…$65,000 and $75,000 and TEN year developer financing
(no qualifying) with a relatively small amount down. There is nothing like it
out there. Nothing.

On an editorial note: much of the news which reaches the rest of the world
often seems literally light years away. The oil spill, the mounting anger
against virtually any politician currently in office… we hear the frustration
and powerlessness from nearly every visitor here and cannot remember
(except for my own era’s Vietnam) the country being as united against
anything which is currently the status quo. It does not bode well for Obama
nor does it bode well for those currently in power who continue NOT to listen
to their constituents and the public’s wishes.
All we can really say is that we hope that the country’s fiscal deficits, the continuing unemployment, and the ongoing problems with credit … will still be able to be dealt with…and that it is not too late. The “gloom and doomers”
will tell us that Armageddon and that our financial system is (without a doubt!) headed for disaster and collapse.
We don’t like the mess that has been created either but we also believe in the resiliency and ingenuity of the American people. And at this point, we see the public as being united
AGAINST present policy and in favor of change. This is a good thing.
The word “politician” is not supposed to be a bad word and is supposed to represent us all. Changes have to take place…and they are.
